Lately we hear a lot about removing toxins from our bodies, but what is a toxin?
A toxin is a poison that, if taken in large doses at one time, would cause severe illness or death. Our body gets out of balance by putting toxins into it and not putting enough of the correct "stuff" in.
Putting toxins in the body causes the immune system to be weak. I am sure that if you knew what was toxic, you wouldn't eat it, but if you don't know what it is how can you avoid it?
Jack LaLanne says it best: “If man made it, don't eat it."
What you put in your mouth should by 100% natural. But this is difficult because there are not very many things which have not been altered. Fruits and vegetables are genetically modified to grow bigger, be disease resistant, and we have even gotten to the point of having products from cloned animals.
If it's in a box, can or jar, it has been processed by someone. The processing strips away any nutritive value the food originally had, and the chemicals which are put in are in small amounts so that the government allows them to say they are "natural".
So what to do? Read the label for the ingredients, because just because it says all natural it may not be. If you cannot pronounce it, it is probably a good idea not to eat it.
